ABC Wedding Album
Scrapbookers have recently become an adventurous bunch. We no longer think twice about putting brads and eyelets into our books. We actively seek out new techniques to showcase our pages. But there is one thing that seems to bring dread to some scrappers. Their wedding pages. I often hear “I have been married 10 years and haven’t started my wedding pictures” or “I’m too scared to touch those photos”. I’m not sure why this is such a phenomenon. We, as artists, can devote 5 pages to one day of pumpkin picking - showcasing the perfect pumpkin and photos of strangers on a hayride, but when it comes to one of the most important events of our lives, it’s impossible to attempt. Here is one suggestion that may give you the courage to take that first step. An ABC wedding album. It is perfect for all the photos that were taken by friends and family or the proofs that you just had to buy because you couldn’t decide what photos should be showcased in the photographer’s album. CreativeScrapbooking.com offers a list of ABC wedding album ideas with many choices for each letter: Wedding ABC Album List. Reading through the list, I can think of many pages to focus on something that may have been overlooked. I would automatically think of the word Cake or Church for the letter “C”, but they have a suggestion of Confetti. One of my favorite photos of my wedding is of us coming out of the church. A friend had taken a picture of us with the confetti and birdseed flying all around. It looked like a ticker tape parade and just showed the celebration of the day more than any other picture. Maybe there are not enough extra pictures of the actual day. I found the perfect list for the ABC’s of Marriage at Simply Scrappin: Marriage ABC's It does not have “cutesy sayings” like a baby’s ABC book, but meaningful prompts that will go perfect with the various photos that are taken at the wedding, honeymoon or soon after the wedding. They have one phrase for each letter, such as “Encourage Each Other”, “Hold Hands” and “Hug a lot” and “Remember the little Things”. Every scrapper knows the importance of documenting events of our lives. Your wedding should be the part of them. Don’t let your great grandchildren pull out the photos to do a heritage album!! Take the first step and you will see how easy they are and why the dread is unnecessary! Scrapbookers have recently become an adventurous bunch.
