Travel Scrapbooking: Austria
by Patricia Folchert (ScrappyHappy)
(Feb 15, 2013)
Last year my daughter's International Studies Club got the opportunity to travel to Europe. They visited three countries while they were there: Italy, Austria and Germany. I chose to highlight Austria today, because with its awe-inspiring snowcapped mountains and its charming villages this country seems so inviting. In this magical place you can cycle through the mountains, take a walk around the Austrian lakes, float away on a Danube boat ride or enjoy royal treatment at Vienna's palaces. My daughter managed to capture some fantastic photos. I have created two double layouts, as well as a single page layout using a page protector with photo sleeves. Austria Highlights & Austria Highlights B by Patty Folchert
This first layout uses the patterned paper to create a village backdrop for some trip highlights. Use a banner to create your title and some 3D alphabet stickers, such as Thickers. Also when you're traveling be sure to take photos of the local food and drinks, such as the cappuccino in this layout.
Austrian Tour Bus by Patty Folchert
On a trip like this the journey is most of the fun, so this single layout shows off some pictures from the bus ride and the countryside. I recently discovered these page protectors with photo sleeves and I love them. They can really speed up the album process. All you need to do with these pages is add a few embellishments and a title in one of the sleeves and your page is all set.
Journey to Austria & Journey to Austria B by Patty Folchert
This layout was inspired by a favorite designer, Kelly Goree. I used a layout of hers but flipped it around and made it into a double layout with my own twist. This is easy to do with any layout or sketch that you like; experiment with mirror images, and always turn it by quarter turns to see which way you like it best. Have you visited Austria recently? We would love to witness your adventures there; you simply must share them here at the Scrapjazz Gallery. Allow us to experience Austria vicariously through your camera lens. Supplies:
