Travel Scrapbooking: Boston
Traveling to new places makes a great vacation and a great photographic opportunity. At home, the memories continue when you scrapbook those memories. Last summer I traveled to Boston with my family. Boston provided a wealth of scrapbook opportunities. Here are some scrapbook topics to consider for a trip to Boston. The Unforgettable Sites. Boston has a wealth of famous sites to visit. From the Old North Church to Fenway Park, record the places you visit in Boston. Make sure you visit some of the great sites of Boston. Many of the most famous sites in Boston can be viewed from the Freedom Trail. Walk all or part of the trail as you explore the sites of Boston. In my layout, "Walking Boston," I created a collage of the sites we saw along the trail. The journaling adds information about what sites were seen.

Historic Places or Objects. Boston is filled with historic places. Many of them can be seen from the roads but many of them are enjoyed by exploring on foot. While in Boston, take some time to walk and explore the insides of historic places such as the U.S.S. Constitution and the Old North Church. Take in the sites and note things that are particularly interesting to you. While in the Old North Church, I noticed the names on the pew boxes. It provided a great story for my layout, "The Pew Box."

Tours. Another way to see the city is on a tour. There are walking tours, bus tours and even tours that take you on the river. Take photographs while on the tour or photographs of the tour group. In my layout, "Boston Tour," I included photographs from the tour and also a photograph of another tour boat just like the one I rode.

Museums and Aquariums. Like any large city, Boston contains several museums and a world-class aquarium. While lighting can be tough in a museum or aquarium, adjust your ISO and aperture setting to get the most from the low-light conditions. In my layout, "Neat," I took photographs of some of the animals at the aquarium and included them on my scrapbook page.

Local Stories of Fun and Struggles. Every trip is full of stories of the fun times and also some of the struggles. Consider your trip to Boston and if there was anything about Boston itself that made the trip especially fun or challenging. In my layout, "Welcome to EST," I documented our initial struggle with the Boston time zone.

Maps, Brochures, Memorabilia, etc. Everyone acquires maps, pamphlets, brochures and postcards from a trip. Gather the ones from your Boston trip into one place. Once home, consider which ones help tell the story the best. One of the most-used maps for us on our trip was the subway map. To remember the adventure of using the subway, I included the map on my layout, "Destination: Boston."

Enjoy your next trip to Boston and the many memories you can scrap afterwards.
