Terrific Title Pages

by Andrea Steed (Mar 31, 2004)

The first page of an album is always a mystery to me. What should be on that page? Should I just jump right into the next layout in chronological order, or should it somehow sum up what the rest of the album will include? I imagine a lot of people have these questions, so I went searching for some title page ideas and found the following:

Layout by Tammy Jackson
  • Create the title page after the entire album is complete.

  • Include the beginning and ending dates of the pages in the album.

  • Create a table of contents in order to quickly summarize the album.

  • Create a photo collage or photo mosaic with photos from a variety of pages within the album. This is a great way to visually show what the album includes.

  • Create a dedication page and dedicate the book to someone special or in memory of an event.

  • Write a "reflection" letter telling what the contents of the album mean to you, and how you feel when you look at them.

  • Choose one photo that represents the contents. For example, the first page of a wedding album might include a photo of the bride and groom together. A baby album might include the newborn baby's first professional photo. A birthday album might include a photo of a cake or the birthday boy or girl.

  • Just make it a title page and add a title!
