Wet and Wild Scrapbook Pages
It is summertime again! Time to break out the sunglasses, the swimming suits and the sun block. No doubt you will be breaking out the camera as well! When the summer fun is over we are left with stacks of summer pictures. If your picture stacks are like mine, many of them are centered on some sort of water activity. Whether it is water skiing, fishing, paddle boating, swimming of any kind or scenes from a water park we can show you fun ways to jazz up your wet and wild scrapbook pages. One great way to jazz up your pages is using clear glass micro mini marbles. When left to shake around they resemble water! There are several ways you can use them. I chose to create a modified shaker box by encasing them inside a sewn up page protector. I created the frame by adding Snip-Its border stickers by Pebbles to one side of a page protector. I placed another sheet on top of it and used my machine to stitch around the inside. I started sewing around the outer edge being careful not to close it up completely. I added the micro beads and a few aqua colored beads. Once you have your beads inside sew up the gap, trim off the excess page protector around the inside and out, and it is ready to go on your page. You can achieve this on a much smaller scale by using a traditional shaker box! Have fun with it. You can re create this look for beach pages! Add fish, seashell, and foot punches for that added beach feel.
Another idea is to use clear embossing powder combined with pre-made paper products. I used these fun tags made by Snip-Its from Pebbles. The tags come perforated so all you do is punch them out. Then using embossing ink, rub the pad along the bottom. Add ultra thick embossing powder (UTEE), heat until it melts. Add as much UTEE as you would like. Once it is dry it give the illusion that the tag is wet.
One product I have found that looks awesome for water pages is Xyron Solutions laminating sheet products. In this layout I used the jewel toned laminating sheets. I cut strips of the blue and green sheets into wavy strips. I layered the blue on top of the green and then placed it onto my paper. For the title I used my lettering template and cut out letters from the same blue and green Xyron Solutions laminating sheet products. I loved the result!
