Lacrosse Embellishments

When I sit down to scrap, I like to have an idea of the embellishments I'm going to use on my layout. Recently, while scrapbooking my daughter's lacrosse pictures, I realized I didn't really have too many lacrosse-themed embellishments that went with my layout. I knew I'd have to get creative if I want my layout to effectively convey the feel of the sport. There are some really nice lacrosse papers and embellishments in the Scrapjazz.com store, but at the time I didn't own many. On this first layout, Freedom High School Lacrosse Varsity, I created a banner using my scalloped punch, since banners are fun and festive. Since her team has made it twice to districts, to her it's a celebration of the sport she is dedicated to and passionate about..
On my layout titled "Lax," I used Jolee's Lacrosse Boutique Stickers. I wanted my embellishments to complement my picture. I placed the cleats next to the ground and my lacrosse stick next to where the players were standing. The clipboard is placed where the coach would be standing. The background paper was customized for her school and it matches their uniforms. I placed the photo on the green paper to give the feeling they're playing on the field.
For the next layout, "Lacrosse 2010," I painted stars onto the patterned paper and added the year using chipboard letters. I also added a lacrosse clipart image and a tag to journal how happy she was to have played varsity during her junior and senior year of high school.
The next time you're stuck, take out your punches, tags, or clipart to get creative. Whether pre-made or handmade, you can always find an embellishment to fit the theme of your layout, including lacrosse-themed pages! |
