Something to Cheer About

Football season is well under way and basketball season is just around the corner. Those popular sports are not complete without someone to lead the crowds in yelling for their favorite team. Cheerleaders are the favorite spirit boosters, and often times the primary reason that some spectators attend sporting events. With cameras in hand, cheerleader parents usually end up with a plethora of photos that often wind up stashed away in a box. Yes, I speak from experience. I welcomed the opportunity to write about scrapping cheerleaders because it gave me an opportunity to pull out some photos of my daughter's high school years. The layouts here are designed to give you ideas on scrapbooking not only cheer pictures, but also drill team, band, or other spirit group photos. You can see the growth of the subject in the progression of layouts below. The 9th grade layout shows a timid, young person, while the final layout shows the cheerleaders at prom in their senior year.
I love the "Cheer" word album that LeAnne Sims (Scrappy-Cat) did. A word album is a terrific way to put a collection of photos together for a specific time period or event.
