Second Grade Memories

A few years ago I taught second grade at a local school district. Throughout the year I had taken so many wonderful photos that I decided to use the best ones for an 8" x 8" album. To create this album I used my Cricut to cut out the die shapes. I used two cartridges exclusively: My Community and Locker Talk. These two cartridges gave me a wide variety of school-related shapes to choose from. For this album, I purchased one school-related paper pack and used it throughout. I also found coordinating embellishments and ribbon to accent my pages. I included photos taken on the playground, at holidays like Halloween, at times when awards were given, on field trips, of kids working on the computer in class and during science experiments. Many teachers take photos of their classes during different events throughout the school year. Ask your child's teacher if he or she has a blog where photos are posted. Then you will be able to use those photos on your child's school-themed scrapbook pages. Another option is to ask your child's teacher to directly email you any photos from the school year to use on your scrapbook pages. Lastly, if you volunteer in the classroom or on a field trip, ask your child's teacher if it would be all right for you to take a few photos to scrapbook. Chances are the teacher will say yes and then ask you for copies of the photos.
