Scrapbook Alive! Add Sound to your Scrapbook
We do such a great job of preserving images in our scrapbooks so we’ll remember them forever, but what about the special sounds we don’t want to forget? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to record a memory and then play it back over and over again simply by pressing a button on your scrapbook page?
Scrapbook Alive by Imagination Project is a voice and sound recorder that can do just that. The Scrapbook Alive recorder can record up to 10 seconds of sound on a microchip. Sound clips are used in all sorts of media to help bring another one of the five senses into a presentation. A sound recorder on a scrapbook page is no different. Not only can you see the photos and read the journaling, but with a sound recorder, you can also use your ears to get a more complete remembrance of the memory.
Ideas for using a Scrapbook Alive voice recorder:
- Send a singing greeting card to a friend or family member. Especially at a birthday or holiday when you can’t be with the recipient, your singing voice (or your children’s) will bring a smile to their face.
- Leave a message for your baby to listen to when he or she is older. Hearing your voice and words from a moment in time that he or she couldn’t otherwise remember will be a wonderful treasure.
- Catch your baby’s favorite first words, or your toddler’s own “language.” If your four year old “yikes Grandma’s breaktuss” (likes Grandma’s breakfast), record that statement so you can still remember that little voice when he’s 16.
- If your family has a special song they listen to at the holidays, record a clip of it to include on your scrapbook page. Even though you’ll still want to add a CD of the whole song to a pocket on the page, the sound clip will give you a quick taste of the holiday as you turn the pages of your album.
- As your children learn how to read, record them reading a few sentences. They’ll be shocked when they listen to it down the road to hear how they sounded.
- Bring a recorder along to a sporting event and record the roaring crowd to include on your page.
Other ideas for what you can record and remember include:
- your husband snoring
- ultrasound heartbeats
- wedding greetings
- birthday celebrations
- love notes to your spouse
- baby crying
- baby laughing
- meowing cat
- your child singing "Barney"
- funny clip from a movie
- your best friend's voice
- the ocean, on your vacation
- an excerpt from a recital
- your howling dog
- the clicking of a roller coaster about to pass over the big hill
- a lullaby
The Scrapbook Alive voice recorder measurements are 2 3/8” long, 1 1/2" wide, and 3/16” thick. It comes with a white envelope that can be decorated to integrate the module into any design or layout. By placing it inside an envelope you also do not have to glue the module permanently to your page. Sounds recorded on the Scrapbook Alive Voice Recorder are preserved even if the batteries are removed, but they can be recorded over if desired.
Add some sound to your next scrapbook page and capture your memories in a new and exciting way!
