Music All Around Us
Music Layout Gallery Music is an amazing way for people to connect to each other and with their own emotions and feelings. Often the words in a song can express our thoughts and feelings better than we could put into words ourselves. So it’s only natural that music be included in our scrapbooks in some (or many) ways. Titles Incorporating the title to a popular song is often a great way to include a creative title on your page. It gives you the opportunity to use a catchy title that people will recognize, and it also can spark your own imagination to create interesting titles. Journaling Lyrics often carry a lot of meaning. When used as journaling on your page, they can perfectly convey the thought or emotion you desire, while setting a mood to your layout. Whether you use the entire song, or just a favorite line or verse, the lyrics can tell so much about the subject of the page, and the artist who created it. The following layout is by Maegan Hall. To convey the mood and message of the photos of her daughter singing, Maegan included the lyrics and title to a favorite song by Third Day. The lyrics help to demonstrate the importance of singing that her family has placed on their spiritual lives. Layout Ideas In addition to using songs as journaling and title elements, you might try making the subject of your layout about a specific song that is special to you in some way. Favorite songs, lullabies you sing to your children, traditional church songs you sing, or the Christmas carols you sing each year by the fire are all songs worth remembering. You may also associate certain songs with different events or memories. If your dad loved playing The Beatles’ records while you were growing up, create a page telling about the memories you have of when those songs were playing, or why you think of your dad each time you hear a song by the Beatles. Finally, we can’t forget the rock concerts, music recitals and band practices. Music is a major part of many people’s lives. Be sure to include pages in your scrapbooks about the instruments you or your family play and the concerts you attend. The following layout is by Trish Dykes. Trish remembered a special gift from a friend with the concert tickets and an image of Trace Atkins (the performer).
Whether it’s through the lyrics or title of a song, or if it’s a page explaining why certain songs or musical events are important, be sure to include the music of your life in your scrapbooks. Music Layout Gallery
