Thanksgiving Layouts

Thanksgiving is an American holiday where we celebrate our family and are thankful for all that we have. We generally observe by getting together with family and eating a large meal including turkey and other family favorites. Thanksgiving memories can be very special and should be preserved in our scrapbooks. While you may choose to make a layout about a single aspect of the holiday, Thanksgiving is definitely an opportunity for a multi-photo layout. If you are planning to scrap Thanksgiving dinner, you will want to make sure you have the right photos. Since the most important thing about Thanksgiving is the people, whether family or friends, you will want to make sure you take pictures of all the people. Whether you decide on a posed photo or a series of candids, you want to make sure you don't leave anyone out - including yourself. As you can see in my Thanksgiving layout from last year, I have included transportation, food, the events of the day and all the people, except myself. Make sure you hand the camera to someone else and have them photograph you.
Another important thing to include on your scrapbook layout is the food. Whether it's the food prep, the beautifully set table, or someone carving the turkey, you will want to have some photos of the food. This is also an opportunity to preserve family recipes. If you have an older relative with a special Thanksgiving recipe, ask her to write it down and include it on a layout with a picture of her and her special dish. One great thing about Thanksgiving scrapbooking is the colors. The fall colors are so beautiful and a favorite of many scrapbookers. Of course, you are not required to use the traditional fall colors. To provide you with some Thanksgiving scrapbooking inspiration, here are a few of the great Thanksgiving layouts here in our Scrapjazz gallery. All of them use fall colors and have a Thanksgiving theme, but each has a different approach to the holiday.
I would like to wish you and your family a healthy and happy Thanksgiving. Please check out my Scrapjazz gallery for product details on the layout shown here. |
