Easter Scrapbooking Ideas

Easter is a great time for scrapbookers-not only is it an opportunity for pictures of Easter dresses and bonnets, of children collecting eggs and of poses with the Easter bunny, it's also an excuse to scrapbook with pretty pastels and embellishments with bunnies, chicks, and new spring flowers. All of these things can provide endless inspiration! Here are a few ideas to start you off on capturing your Easter memories. Journal Favorite Easter Moments Are you behind in scrapping past holidays, and have lots of pictures from Easters long ago that have never made it into your scrapbook? A good way to make a dent is to do a collage of pictures from different years, then journal about your favorite memories of past Easters that stand out in your mind. Maybe you have a few "firsts" that you remember, like your first Easter with your spouse or the first time you hid eggs for your child. Maybe you just have small memories associated with Easter that you would love to journal about. This would make a great two-page layout: one page with a collage of pictures and the opposite page to focus on your journaling. If you prefer to do a one-page layout, you could use a pocket to hide the journaling behind your photos. Scrapbook Your Faith For many people, Easter is more about its religious significance than about Easter eggs and Easter baskets. If this is you, then Easter is a great opportunity to add a page or two to your scrapbook that focuses on your faith. This could be done through journaling, or through photographs from different points in your life that symbolize what you want to say. What you say doesn't necessarily have to relate to Easter, though it would also be beautiful to write about the holiday and the significance it holds for you. You could even do both-either in two separate layouts or a two-page layout. Make a Minibook Easter is a great reason to make a minibook! If you take lots of photos around the holidays, you probably have more than enough. You could do a minibook documenting just one aspect of the holiday such as the process of dying, hiding, and finding the eggs, or the fun of trying on an Easter dress and then wearing it to church, or the tradition of eating Easter dinner. Instead, you could take a few pictures from each part of the day and do a spread on each. A minibook doesn't have to be about Easter-you could do a spring-themed minibook instead, using a similar color palette and embellishments. Scrapbook the first flowers in your garden, the birds taking things from around the yard to build a nest, or your family dressed in warm weather clothes for the first time this year. With spring here and Easter right around the corner, there is plenty of inspiration to be found in the elements of the Easter holiday and the new warm weather.
