Christmas: Silhouette + Stamping = Fun

I love pairing my Silhouette Cameo with stamps and patterned papers to create mini albums, cards and layouts. You can create really fun creations with just a few items and your Silhouette. Today I want to share a mini album and a set of cards that you can create this holiday season. Supplies used:
This Christmas season I wanted to have a Christmas album done in advance that would only require me to slip in photos and journal when the holidays were over. I have tried to build albums after the holidays are over and I just can't get inspired. So this year I used the Simple Stories Handmade Holiday Collection and their Christmas SNAP Collection to create an album to hold all my memories and stories.
I used my Silhouette to cut the word tree and the holly. I then used my Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday Christmas stamps to stamp "the magic of Christmas" across the bottom of the cover.
Here is a look at some of the other pages in my album and the stamps I used to add interest and fun:
I stamped the word list down the center of the paper strip and added the holly around it.
I stamped "Tis the Season" below the patterned paper title to add more to the page.
I added the patterned paper strip down the left side, and then added the two stamped images and the holly.
Here I added the "December" title and the words around the photo mat. Stamps can add titles, journaling and interest to a page.
After completing my album I had lots of scraps left over. I made these cards using those scraps, stamps and my Silhouette.
I cut the "merry" from my Silhouette, backed it with patterned paper and then stamped "Christmas" underneath the "merry". I added my leftover holly leaves to the right side of the card and finished with some twine.
For this card I stamped the snowflakes for the background of the card. I then cut snowflakes from the Silhouette and added hand-cut hearts to the center of the snowflakes. To the bottom of the card, I stamped the magic phrase on a strip of paper and stapled it to the card. I finished it with some twine.
This card is one of my favorites. I stamped all of the block stamps onto the front of the card. Next, I stamped the "peace" block onto the cream grid patterned paper and then added the holly to the left side. I finished it with the twine. I'm thinking of using this card for all of my Christmas cards this year.
Using the Silhouette and stamps can provide hours of creative fun. This holiday season, pull out your digital cutter, die-cut machine, etc. and some stamps and spend a few hours creating something festive and fun. Then, come share it in our gallery Happy Holidays to you and yours this holiday season. |
