Step-by-Step: Our Family

Christmas combined with family can often lead to an overwhelming selection of photos. We find ourselves inundated with countless photos of kids opening presents , family, the tree and decorations, in posed and casual shots. I decided to make things easy and chose four of my favorite photos from Christmas Eve. I used one main photo and three smaller wallet-sized photos.  I also wanted to use some softer coIors in the layout, given that my daughter, husband and mom were all wearing such bright red colors. The fun Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly was perfect to work with as it had a mix of soft aquas, greens and reds! Read on for the steps on this layout! 

Supplies:

• Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts paper
• Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly Play Day paper
• ColorBox Chalk Glacier Ice ink
• Cosmo Cricket Lil' Man Mischievous Max paper
• ColorBox Turquoise ink
• Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly Merry Berry paper
• ColorBox Chalk Lipstick Red ink
• Ranger Ink Christmas Red Stickles
• Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls
• BasicGrey alphabet stickers
• Cosmo Cricket chipboard

Instructions:

1. Use the Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts paper as the background for the layout. Then cut a piece from the Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly Play Day paper that measures 9" x 8 ¼". Ink the edges with ColorBox Chalk Glacier Ice ink. Adhere to the center of the paper.
   
   
2. Next cut a piece from the Cosmo Cricket Lil' Man Mischievous Max paper. Cut the piece to measure 6 ½" x 7". Ink the edges with the ColorBox Turquoise ink. Adhere to the bottom of the Play Day paper leaving a 1/8" space.
   
   
3. Then cut a strip from the Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly Merry Berry paper. The piece should measure 3" x 9 ½". Ink the edges with ColorBox Chalk Lipstick Red ink. Adhere to the right side of the paper.
   
   
4. Add a 4" x 6" main photo to the layout. Adhere the wallet-sized photos to the right side of the page, on the Merry Berry strip of paper.
   
   
5. Add the Cosmo Cricket chipboard. To jazz it up just a bit I used some Christmas Red Stickles on the berries and around the page for interest. I also added several dots using Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls .
   
       
   
   
6. Finish it off with some BasicGrey alphabet stickers.

The result is simple, sweet and one of my favorite layouts!!!
