Five Fun and Easy Holiday Cards
For those of you that make your holiday cards, I have five fun and easy cards for you. I used the BasicGrey 6" x 6" Figgy Pudding Collection, some Bo Bunny cardstock, and Bazzill cardstock. The list below includes the supplies I used for all five cards. So, grab your supplies, and let's get creating! Supplies Needed: Merry Christmas Scalloped Card Finished Size: 5 ¾" x 5 ½" The scalloped edge on this card dresses it up a little. It is super quick and easy to make. Instructions: - Score Bazzill scalloped cardstock in half.
- Trim BasicGrey Holly patterned paper to 4 ½" x 4 ¾", and ink edges with Tsukineko Coffee Bean stamp ink.
- Center and mount onto the cardstock.
- Cut a 4 ½" piece of wide red dot ribbon, and mount 1 ¼" from the bottom of the patterned paper using Glue Dots.
- Cut a 2 1/8" x 1 7/8" piece of BasicGrey green patterned paper and a piece of chipboard the same size.
- Using a Merry Christmas stamp, stamp onto the piece of BasicGrey green paper.
- Attach stamped sentiment to chipboard, ink edges with Tsukineko Coffee Bean stamp ink and attach to card.
- Using silver Ice Stickles, add "berries" to sentiment to finish the card.
Happy Holidays Card Finished Size: 5 ½" x 4 ½" For this card, using pre-printed ribbon makes this card very simple and fast. If you are making cards in bulk, this might be an idea for you. Instructions: - Cut Bo Bunny cardstock to 4 ½" x 11". Score in half.
- Use a 1 ¼" circle punch to punch five circles out of two BasicGrey patterned papers.
- Ink edges of each circle with Tsukineko Coffee Bean stamp ink.
- Overlap and mount circles to the center of the card.
- Cut a 3 ½" piece of your pre-printed ribbon, and attach with Glue Dots ¾" from the bottom of the card.
- Staple ribbon twice on the right-hand side of the card to finish the card.
Dec. 25 Card Finished Size: 4 ½" x 6" This is another fun and easy card, and the tied ribbon adds a little dimension. Instructions: - Cut Bo Bunny cardstock to 4 ½" x 12". Score in half.
- Trim BasicGrey poinsettia patterned paper to 3 ½" x 5" using pinking shears.
- Trim BasicGrey green patterned paper to 3 ¾" x 5 ¼", and ink edges with Tsukineko Coffee Bean stamp ink.
- Mount poinsettia paper on top of the green paper. Then mount onto Bo Bunny cardstock.
- Tie and cut green ribbon, and mount to patterned paper using Glue Dots.
- Cut ‘Dec 25' using a die-cut machine. You can also use stickers or chipboard letters.
- Mount title onto poinsettia paper.
- Using silver Ice Stickles, fill in the center of the poinsettias to finish the card.
Oh Christmas Tree Card Finished Size: 4 ½" x 7" Instructions: - Cut Bazzill Ivy cardstock to 9" x 7". Score in half.
- Distress edges of cardstock with your Heidi Swapp edge distresser.
- Tear BasicGrey patterned paper into the shape of a tree. The tree should have a 4" base. Save the scraps because you will use them for the "Noel" card.
- Cut a 1" x 1" tree trunk out of BasicGrey brown patterned paper.
- Ink edges of tree and trunk with Tsukineko Coffee Bean stamp ink.
- Mount trunk to the tree, and then mount to your cardstock.
- Handwrite or type "Oh Christmas Tree" onto Bazzill white cardstock strips. I used Arial 16 pt. font. Ink edges.
- Mount title to the bottom right-hand corner of the card.
- Use your rub-on stitches to "attach" the title.
- Punch a star for the top of your tree.
- Outline the star in silver Ice Stickles.
- Decorate the tree with gold brads and miscellaneous buttons to finish the card.
Noel Card Finished Size: 4 ½" x 6" For this card, you will use the scraps of BasicGrey patterned paper left over from tearing out the tree for the "Oh Christmas Tree" card. Instructions: - Cut Bazzill Ivy cardstock to 4" x 12". Score in half.
- Using the scraps from the previous card, mount them at the top and bottom of your cardstock. Adjust the size of each piece as needed.
- Use a 1 3/8" square punch to punch four squares out of the red Bo Bunny cardstock.
- Cut the word ‘Noel' out of white cardstock using a die-cut machine. You can also use stickers or chipboard letters.
- Attach each letter to a red Bo Bunny square, then mount centered onto the card.
- Add brads for a little fun to finish your card.
I hope you will have fun making these easy holiday cards. Please post them in the gallery when you have finished. We would love to see them. Merry Christmas!
