Holiday Card Solution: Scrapbook.com E-Cuts Cards
by Andrea Steed (Nov 18, 2004)
“I could never make my own holiday cards. I’m not creative enough.”
Does this sound like you? If the thought of creating handmade holiday cards is a little overwhelming, but you love the thought of sending out a card with a handmade touch, here’s a solution that can give you some creative license with each card, without having to reinvent the wheel for every one.
Scrapbook.com has added a new series of E-Cuts to their collection, called E-Cuts Cards, that are the perfect hybrid of "store-bought" and "handcrafted" designs. Beginning card makers can create their own beautiful cards without having to come up with the designs or spend the hours to make them look great.
E-Cuts Cards use the same principle as E-Cuts uses for layout embellishments; simply print, cut, and assemble. What makes the E-Cuts Cards different is that they include a background that you fold in half to create the base of the card. When printed on white cardstock, the exterior of the card will have a beautiful patterned design, while the inside will remain blank so you can add your personal message.
You can print as many sheets of the same design as you’d like to create duplicate cards, making your card-making decisions for this holiday season a breeze. By adding some additional embellishments, you can use elements from each sheet to create several different cards. Each E-Cuts Cards sheet includes a base card, various sentiments, and embellishments, all of which can be mixed and matched with each other and other scrapbooking products to create a wide variety of card designs. The examples below show two cards made from the same E-Cuts Cards sheet.
Not limited to holiday cards, E-Cuts Cards are available in a variety of themes and designs. To add more personality and uniqueness to the card designs you create, the E-Cuts Cards designs can also be mixed and matched with other E-Cuts layout embellishment designs as well as the Scrapbook.com Scrapbooking Fonts.
Worried about printing costs? Don’t be. Each E-Cuts Cards design is only $3.50 and can be re-printed as often as you’d like. With the costs of printer ink going down and the availability of generic refills, you can create cards for under $0.50 a piece, which is well below the cost of store-bought cards, typically around $1.50 each.
Creating a handmade card at home is quick and easy with these crafty cards. They’ve certainly helped me make a dent in my holiday card recipient list!
