    It is (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day, of course, and you have our official permission not to do any chores! Instead we think you should find a babysitter for the kids, find a quiet spot in your house to escape to and shut the door. Spend the entire day scrapbooking to your heart’s content!

    Groundhog Day is something always wildly anticipated in our house. Living in Canada, anything that means spring might be coming – and relief from the massive piles of snow we inevitably get every year – is a welcomed sign. Even if I’m pinning my hopes on a rodent not seeing his shadow, I’ll usually take it by February 2!

    You know that day after Christmas Day? The day when all of the main celebration is over... when you have leftovers for dinner and the opportunity to appreciate your gifts in more detail? The day when you have to tidy up all the remnants of leftover wrapping paper from your living room floor? The day when you are itching to print your photographs, get in your craft room and start scrapping? Do you know that day? .... You may or may not be aware of this, but it has a name: Boxing Day.

    One highlight of the holidays is the different foods we get to eat. Sometimes it is food we only get once each year and that makes it extra special.     Celebrating St. Nicholas Day

    St. Nicholas Day is celebrated worldwide on December 6. Traditionally it was a day to remember St. Nicholas who was a bishop during the fourth century. St. Nicholas’ memory was kept alive in Holland where he was respectfully known as Sinterklaas. Once the Dutch came to America, their beloved Sinterklaas became Santa Claus, the jolly old elf we have all grown up loving.
