Dr. Seuss-Inspired Projects

Congratulations, today is your day and you're off to great places. Who knew that this month had an official Dr. Seuss day? I didn't know it, but I thought it sure would make for a fun article! Ultimately I want to use these two projects for my daughter's graduation this year, as the quote of "Oh the places you'll go" has become a common one to use for graduation celebrations. So I did a little research into the book and used it as inspiration for a layout and a card. "Oh the Places You'll Go" Layout by Patty Folchert
For this layout I wanted the quote to take center stage, but I also used a Dr. Seuss-inspired color combo and design to create a playful mix of diagonal border strips and paper-pieced heart embellishments. I also added some neutral wood hearts for the finishing touch.

For graduates, their accomplishments are just the beginning of what will be their life journey. So I borrowed another Dr. Seuss quote on this card and just added a paper-pieced graduation cap and a kraft envelope for a gift card. I actually kept the colors primarily red and blue simply because those are my daughter's school colors.
