Step by Step: Girl Friend Chic

Many of us too often only make the time to scrap children's photos. Of course, creating beautiful memories for children is very important, but occasionally, why not take the time to scrap a favorite photo of you and your girl friends? It'll be fun! Here's how to create a fun, chic layout of your very own!

Supplies:

• American Crafts Paper-Fannie Mendell
• American Crafts Paper-Pep Rally
• American Crafts Paper-Betsy Tailor
• Bazzill Cardstock-Black
• American Crafts Thickers-Rainboots
• American Crafts Thickers-Daiquiri
• American Crafts Adhesive Badges-Fashion Cool
• Staz On Black Ink
• Zig Writing Pen
• Heidi Swapp Bling-Clear
• Petaloo Floral
• standard ruler
• decorative scissors

Instructions:

1. Lay the black sheet of cardstock horizontally.
2. Trim the hot pink (Fannie Mendell) paper to 7 1/2" by 10". The black cardstock will now frame the layout. Adhere the pink paper onto the black cardstock.
3. Next, trim the black polka dot paper (Pep Rally) paper into a 10" by 1" strip. Pay close attention to where you are cutting, as to not cut the dots off in any way. Adhere to the bottom of the layout, as shown.
4. Now, you will create a mat for your photograph. Use the opposite side of the black polka dot paper (Pep Rally) to create a vivid lime green photo mat. Place your photo on the lime green paper, and trim a mat so there is a small border around your photo. Adhere the photo to the mat, and position the photo on the layout slightly offset to the left, as shown.
5. Use decorative scissors to trim the edge of a 4" by 1/2" piece of the turquoise side of the Betsy Tailor paper. Tuck the plain edge slightly under the left side of the photo. This hint of blue will give your layout a "pop!"
6. Now, get out your ruler and your writing pen! On the right side of the photo, you will create journaling lines.
7. Then, take your floral and adhere it to the bottom right corner of the photo. Choose the Adhesive Flair Badge of your choice, and adhere it to the floral center.
8. Use the Thickers to create your title/sentiment.
9. Take out your writing pen again, and add your journaling on the journaling lines.
10. Finally, get out your Bling. Cut a little strip, about one inch long, and place it next to the first letter in your title.
11. And that's it! You're done. Hopefully your fun layout inspires you to create more adult layouts!
