Step-by-Step: Hot Stuff

by Kayla Richards (Oct 28, 2008)

Do you want to create a color-punched, trendy, absolutely cute layout...but don't think you have the time or the know-how? Well, I have some good news, because now you can create one of your very own. I created this layout using three simple steps and you can too. Just grab a fun photo and follow the steps below. Let's get started!

*Note: I inked the edges of everything on this layout. If you desire, you can do the same. It's a fun and easy way to add some "oomph" to your project!

  1. Paperwork: Set your brown cardstock horizontally on your workspace. Then, cut the Moda Bella paper to fit just inside the brown cardstock, leaving about a one inch border of brown cardstock all the way around. Then cut a 1" x 11" strip of black cardstock, and tuck it between the Moda Bella paper and brown cardstock near the bottom of the layout, as shown. Finally, cut a small strip from paper in your scrap stash. Tuck it under the edge of the Moda Bella paper as seen on the layout.

  2. Picture Time: Position your photo as shown on the layout. Then, take your Heidi Swapp floral and fold it in half, stapling it in the center to hold it together. Tuck the flower just under the left side of the photo. Then, use an American Crafts Flair Badge as your floral center. Cute, huh?

  3. The Final Polish: Now on to the best part - the title! Use American Crafts Thickers to spell out any funky, fresh title to match your layout!
