Step-by-Step: Fast Friends

When I saw Crate Paper's new Sweet Branch line I could not wait to work with it! I had some pretty pictures of my daughter in mind. However when I saw the Fast Friends diecut, I decided to switch subjects and focus on one that I rarely scrapbook about: our best friends! Given how much time we spend together and vacations we've gone on, it's definitely an important scrapbook topic that often gets overlooked. Read on to learn how to recreate this layout step by step.

• Crate Paper Sweet Branch Diecuts
• Crate Paper Rub-ons
• Crate Paper Ribbon Ring
• Making Memories Blossoms
• American Crafts Plastic and Felt Flowers
• K & Company Diecuts
• Gunmetal Stickles
• Colorbox Chalk Inks
• Thermoweb Sticky Strips Adhesive
• corner rounder punch
• various buttons
• cream, kraft and light green cardstock

Instructions:

1. Trim ½" off the top and sides of light green cardstock. Use a corner rounder for the corners. Ink edges with soft green ink. Adhere to the center of the cream-colored cardstock.
2. Cut a 9 ½" by 11 ½" piece from the Crate Paper Cherish print. Tear the bottom edge of the paper. Ink edges with soft aqua. Adhere to the center of the light green cardstock.
3. Adhere two 4" by 6" photos to the right side of the paper.
4. Cut a 4 ½" by 6 ½" piece from kraft cardstock. Round the top and bottom corners on the left-hand side. Ink with a soft brown.
5. For the journaling I typed mine in Microsoft Word after measuring the space with the diecut being in the middle of the journaling. I printed it out on a test sheet of copy paper to make sure the size was correct. Then I printed it onto the cream cardstock. I trimmed it to fit onto the kraft and adhered it to the page.
6. Add ribbon length across the page. Cut an additional length of ribbon. Tie on the left side and adhere to the page.
7. Add a strip of the Thermoweb Sticky strips onto the backside of the "Fast Friends"diecut. Ink edges with a soft purple. Adhere to the center of the journaling.
8. Ink the edges of the flower diecut in a soft green. Adhere to the left side of thepage, tucking under the corner of the journaling. Add a button and use Stickles on random spots on the flower for a touch of sparkle.
9. Add the various flowers, buttons and diecuts to the bottom left corner. Tuck in the K & Company diecut. Add touches of the Stickles to the diecuts.
10. Add three small chipboard buttons above the top photo to complete.
