Step-by-Step: Mmmm...Cookies

by Kayla Richards (Apr 14, 2009)

I love layouts with some sparkle, especially when it's a little girl layout! A little "bling" adds that extra special  touch. Below you will find the step-by-step instructions for how to create a sparkly layout of your own!

Supply List:

Instructions:

Note: All edges are inked using Tim Holtz Distress Ink. This is optional.

  1. Trim Bazzill cardstock to 8 1/2" by 11" for your background paper.
  2. Then, trim the Ella Glittered Dot paper to 8" by 10.5". This is the patterned background paper shown in the layout. Adhere the trimmed Glittered Dot paper to the cardstock background.
  3. Next, trim the Ella Stripe paper into strips.  Only trim off one strip of each color shown. Trim these strips to 8" each. Then, trim the edges of these strips to look like ribbon (as shown).  Adhere the strips to the bottom of the background paper. Use your scrap strips to add faux ribbon strips to the top right of your layout.
  4. Now, use cardstock to mat your photo. Leave a 1/4" border around the photo. Adhere the photo on your layout, allowing the photo to overlap the paper strips on the bottom.
  5. Now it's time to embellish! Grab your flower, and tuck it under the top left corner of your photo. Then take your bling, and add a strip on the left side of the photo.

Finally, add your journaling. stamp your choice of journaling block onto cardstock, and cut out the stamp. Tuck the journaling block just under the photo. Add your special words, and you're done! Enjoy your sparkly layout!
