Victorious Vacation Bible School

Every summer our church hosts Vacation Bible School, better known as VBS. It is quite the event with over a hundred children in attendance every year.  They come to enjoy three nights of Bible classes, singing, crafts, puppets, snacks and tons of fun.  Whether you are a VBS teacher or the parent of a student, there are endless opportunities for photos. When I put my  layout together I used the theme of that year’s VBS as inspiration, but here are plenty of ideas for Vacation Bible School layouts:

Layout Inspiration Ideas:

1. the colors in your photos
2. a favorite Bible/memory verse

4. favorite Bible stories or characters
5. a VBS activity (singing, praying, puppets, crafts, games, etc.)

Photo Opportunity Ideas:

1. child in front of church building
2. child with teachers
3. child’s entire class in classroom
4. child involved in crafts
5. child holding up finished projects

7. child enjoying snacks
8. child reading the Bible
9. child singing or performing (especially if there is an end-of-the-week performance!)

Here is my example; it is a double layout using colors from my photos: orange, purple and pink. I wanted to highlight the Superhero theme of that year and so I created the center logo and stamped a cityscape across the bottom.

So now you have a mission; grab your kids and your cameras and head for your local Vacation Bible School this summer, locked and loaded. We are so blessed in this country to have the freedom to share our beliefs with our children; make sure your children get full advantage of that blessing.
