Layouts about Movie Night

by Rachel Myerson (Jul 10, 2007)

"Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."
A family started a new tradition of movie night.

I'm not sure how it started, but we now celebrate movie night about once a month. We usually rent the movie, although sometimes we watch one that we own. Rather than just letting the kids watch a movie, the whole family participates. We eat dinner on the couch while watching, and in the middle of the movie, we take an intermission to make popcorn to eat during the rest of the movie. Since my children are young, we often watch the same movie more than once.

After a few months, I decided that this was a tradition that should be preserved. So, I got my camera and took a few photos to shouts of "Mommy, no pictures!" Later, I created this layout:

I feel that the most important aspects of this layout are the two lists: our menu and the list of movies we have watched. Since I created this layout, we have added another movie to our repertoire: Star Wars. I have a feeling that we will end up watching the entire series and I will have to make layout dedicated to these movies. Over the years, I plan to make more layouts about movie night, listing the movies we will have watched since the previous layouts.

Do you have a family tradition about movie night, or even a favorite TV show that you watch as a family? These are important memories that you will treasure in the future, so don't forget to preserve them. Don't forget to include the important details in your journaling such as what you watch, when it's on (if it's a TV show), what you eat, and any other traditions that are unique to your family or viewing group.

Next time you sit down with the family to watch a movie, consider taking out the camera, and don't forget the popcorn.

"May the Force be with you."
