Step-by-Step: Self Portrait
Every once in a while I let my daughter take our camera. Sometimes Charlotte takes photos of objects around the house, other times she takes terrible shots of her parents. I was quite surprised when I downloaded the last batch of photos to find that she is now fascinated with taking self-portraits. Most of the photos were slightly blurry and taken from funky angles but I knew they were keepers because they showed Charlotte's personality at age eight. Here is how I created this layout step-by-step.
Supplies: Instructions:
- Print out photos. (I printed out one square photo measuring 4" by 4" and three small wallet-sized photos.) File the edges of each photo.
- Crop a piece of red cardstock into a 6" by 10" piece. Adhere 2" from the right and 1" from the top of the page.
- Adhere wallet-sized photos in a random fashion so that they are 1" from the right of the page and 1 ½" from the top. Align the middle one so that it is straight and tilt the left and right photos.
- Adhere tickets directly below the three photos, making sure that the tickets overlap the pictures about ¼".
- Adhere the journaling shape. Write your journaling.
- Adhere the photo corner to the bottom left edge of the large photo. Tilt the large photo to the right and adhere so that it slightly overlaps the journal half circle and the right edge of the red cardstock.
- Stamp letters and punch them out with the ½" circle punch. Adhere over the letters on the Bingo Card. Adhere the Bingo Card behind the journaling shape. Adhere the letter stickers to complete the title.
- Clip the felt heart clip to the month ticket. Adhere the ticket so it slightly overlaps the left edge of the large photo and is overlapping the scallop journal shape.
- Adhere numbers and your page is complete.
Try letting your children take your camera for a while. You never know what photos you will find!!
