Who doesn't love receiving a birthday card? I know I do! It makes you feel special to be remembered. Even more special is a handmade card. Here are some ideas to get you started making cards using stickers, stamps, patterned papers and more! Train Happy Birthday Card ![]() This fun card is perfect for the little guy in your life who loves trains. I used Paper Salon stamps, Sakura Glaze pens to color the train, jewels, a bit of black grosgrain ribbon and a simple polka dot paper. Scarlet Letter Birthday Card ![]() How about an elegant card for an elegant friend? This card BasicGrey's beautiful Scarlet Letter papers, a beautiful print twill, scalloped oval punches and a fun stamped message from Amuse Art Stamps. Cake Happy Birthday Card ![]() This card is perfect for just about everyone! With the touches of pink and blue it's great for little girls and us bigger girls too! I used scalloped scissors for the white paper's edge (which was then inked with blue ink), a bit of blue grosgrain ribbon, Paper Salon's birthday cake stamp and sentiment and some circle punches. To give it a little dimension I used Sakura's glitter pen and a tall foam circle to pop up the cake. Birthday Cake Shaker Card ![]() How about something fun?! This is a cute shaker made by Rebecca Sower. I bought it a while ago intending to use it for something special. There's nothing more special than a friend or family's birthday. For this card I stamped and embossed the Paper Salon Best Wishes stamp in a silver embossing powder. I added some fun print papers by Paper Salon and the cupcake shaker and ended up with one fun card for someone special! Floral Happy Birthday Card ![]() These new EK Success Sticko stickers just screamed to be paired up with the Cosmo Cricket papers and the new Making Memories Dyed Tags. I added a cute Happy Birthday stamp from Studio G and a little ribbon, used a wide scallop scissor and created a fun card ready for giving. Happy Birthday Dad ![]() Often we have a guy who needs a card and it should be a bit more masculine. Although flowers are nice, this one is perfect for that special guy or dad in your life. I used Bo Bunny's Play All Day line. The cardstock stickers and star design are a great theme. I added a larger handcut star, some alphabet stickers, scalloped square chipboard from Deluxe Designs that I inked and a brad to finish it off. Celebrate Card![]() I love patterned papers that have beautiful elements you can cut out. For this card I cut out the flowers and "celebrate" circles. I added sewn-on buttons and then used foam squares to pop them up a bit. The alphabet letters I inked with ColorBox chalk inks for a soft edge. For something extra, why not go ahead and make a coordinating tag if you are giving a gift. Makes sense to do it while the supplies are already out! ![]() I cut another flower and "celebrate" circle out. I used Paper Salon stamps for the sentiment and added it to a unique handcut tag. It's perfect to add to a gift bag! Happy Day Card Last but not least...a fun card using stickers and patterned paper. ***image10:center*** For this card I used a fun new patterned paper by Doodlebug and their matching alphabet stickers. I punched out the circle design from the paper and layered those along with a Doodlebug flower on the card. I added the matching alphabet stickers and rickrack that I stapled on. Last, here's a quick tip for easy cardmaking. If you're a scrapper, cardmaking is to your advantage. You have all the necessary supplies.
