New Baby Congrats Cards

A new baby is a time for celebration. You can go to any store that sells greeting cards and find whole aisles devoted to congratulating parents on their new bundle of joy but those cards can be impersonal. Also, it can be difficult to find a card that says just the right sentiment for that special child. Making your own new baby card can solve all of those problems. It allows you to create a card specifically for that child and their family, a card that will be appreciated, treasured and tucked into a baby book to be admired for years to come. Here are some examples of new baby congratulations cards that might spark some inspiration the next time you sit down to create a baby card. For this first card I used a baby buggy found on the Cricut Lite Cartridge Sugar and Spice. I also added two different ribbons running vertically on the front of the card. I added a small dolly brad to the baby buggy for fun and stamped "BABY" along the left side of the card.
For this little baby boy card I used the Cricut Cartridge New Arrival to cut the baby booties in blue with a blue and white ribbon. I used crème-colored seam binding, instead of ribbon, across the card horizontally. I sprayed the seam binding with Glimmer Mist in Electric Blue and Dazzling Diamonds for a shimmery and weathered look.
Next, I created identical cards in contrasting colors to show how easy it is to take the same card and modify it for either a girl or a boy. The little baby is from the Cricut New Arrival cartridge. The faces on both babies are from Peachy Keen Stamps. Layered scalloped circles, some ribbon and a tiny stamp complete these cards.
The next baby girl card features three tiny diaper pins stamped with Peachy Keen Face Stamps. Each pin has its own unique baby face. The pins as well as the sentiment were cut from the Cricut New Arrival Cartridge. I used patterned paper in pinks along with pink sheer ribbon to complement the diaper pins.
This last card was created using the Cricut Expression and Gypsy Handheld Design Studio. I used the baby bottle from the Cricut Simply Charmed cartridge and welded two base shapes together with my Gypsy to create this shape card. Then I cut and layered the baby bottle, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to my base shape to create this sweet, whimsical baby boy card.
I hope these cards have given you some ideas for creating your own cards. For more inspiration and ideas for baby cards, visit the galleries here at Scrapjazz and search for baby cards. Supplies:
