10 Ways to Use a Hole Punch
At work a few weeks ago, I had a standard office hole punch sitting on my desk. As I went about my daily business of phone calls and e-mails, I played with it - making holes in paper and creating little stacks of paper circles. By the end of the day, it dawned on me that I could do all sorts of scrapbook projects with that one simple tool. If you don't have a hole punch, use your anywhere hole punch made for eyelets. Create a design in your background paper with the negative space. - Make a row of holes to weave ribbon.
- Punch a hundred little holes in different colors and create a layered background for a tag.
- Create a border of circles and stitch to your background.
Use circles for the center of flowers. - Use circles for bullets or dingbats in journaling.
- Circles make simple accents on a layout, especially when combined with lines.
Use the punch to create a border or photo mat. - Punch a few circles, temporarily adhere to paper then trace with a black pen. Remove circles for a whimsical pattern.
- Make small buttons by poking two holes in a circle and threading.
