Scrapbook Product Review: Fiskars Threading Water Punch

My scrapbooking style can easily be described as "girly." This makes sense seeing as how I've been blessed with four daughters. Even our two pugs are girls! One element that repeatedly makes an appearance on my girly-girl layouts are scallops.

I was very excited to receive my new Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch in the mail. Fiskars makes such nice quality products, I was sure that this new tool would get plenty of use. Some of my favorite features are:

• Large press-style handle for easy punching
• Guides on either side to ensure an even pattern
• Large steady base
• Clean, sharp cuts

In fact the only thing about this punch that I found lacking was that there is no receptacle to catch all of the little bits of confetti that the punch leaves behind, so if you are punching a number of border strips you end up with quite a mess on your desk.

Personally I'm hoping that Fiskars will come out with a larger version of this which would make nice jumbo-sized scallops. That would be fantastic! This small version is delicate, and the little hole adds a sweet vintage touch to your layouts, but it's small enough that it can lose impact when combined with bold patterns or lots of texture and embellishment. I think a larger scallop would be more dynamic.
