Color Me There
Whether it is Roasted Red Pepper or Blue Aztec Sky, our lives are bathed in the richness of beautiful color. Our favorite colors show up in our wardrobes, our homes and of course, in our scrapbooks. On any given day, you can find me in the paint department of my local hardware store debating over a color for my next new project. Over the years, I have amassed quite a collection of those take-home paint swatches, commonly known as paint chips. It wasn't until recently that I started thinking about them in a whole new light. With a hole-punched corner and a beaded chain to hold them together, it started out simply as a way to keep them from getting lost in the bottom of my purse. Then one afternoon while I was picking out a new paint scheme for my daughter's room, I came across the Disney samples with the Mickey Mouse logo on them and thought they were great. I grabbed a few different colors, rushed home and within a few hours, had completed my first mini album. From that point on, I was flooded with ideas for different albums using the "color" theme. Some of those ideas are listed here and would correspond with the appropriate paint chip colors. - Color Me Happy
- The Color of My Love
- A Rainbow of Wishes for You
- You Color My World
- Little Boy Blue
- Tickled Pink
- True Colors
- Green Thumb
- So Blue Without You
- Red Hot Lover
How about a group of primary colors for a birthday album or autumn shades for a fall album? Maybe pink and red ones for a 'Valentines Day gift for a teacher or black and orange ones for a mini Halloween treat for your child's grandparents. With a full spectrum of colors available, you are sure to find the right ones to go with any theme or occasion. And if you are like me, you may just stumble across the perfect new shade for your kitchen walls in the process. Note: When using paint chips for your mini albums, it is best to assume that they are not acid free. I would highly recommend using duplicate photos on your projects.
