Product Review: Stickles

Have you heard about the Stickles craze?  I am sure you have!  If you have not, then beware-this article may cause you to join in.  They are a fun addiction, and they are a great embellishment to add to your cards, layouts, tags, altered art, and more.

What Are Stickles?
Stickles are a decorative glitter glue that come in many different colors and textures.  You can write, paint, embellish, create dots, outline, and much more.

Types of Stickles

There are three types of Stickles available:  Stickles, Distress Stickles, and Glitz Stickles.

Stickles Glitter Glue

• 35 different colors available
• Fine point, easy-flow applicator tip
• Acid free

Tim Holtz Distress Stickles

• 12 different colors available
• Larger easy-flow applicator tip
• Acid free
• Variegated glitter sizes
• Gives a more distressed look
• Thicker and bolder than the regular Stickles mentioned above
  
  
  

Suze Weinberg Glitz Stickles

• 6 different colors available
• Fine point, easy-flow applicator tip
• Acid free
• Extra sparkle to add lots of bling
  
  
  

Differences

There have been a lot of questions about the differences between the types of Stickles.  Here are a few things I have found.

• The applicator tip is larger on the Distress Stickles bottle; thus you cannot create fine lines.
• Stickles and Glitz Stickles have the same applicator tip.
• The drying time is longer for Distress Stickles.
• The colors can be very similar; however, you will find the Distress Stickles to be chunkier.
• The regular Stickles are easier to use for painting, in my opinion.
  

The samples below show the differences.  First, you can see the different sizes of the applicator tips.

Second, you can see how different the lines are when trying to write or draw.  And lastly, you can see the different look they create when applied using a paintbrush.
