Product Review: Making Memories Spiral Journaling Notebooks

by Rachel Myerson (Feb 23, 2009)

1_243Do you journal on many of your layouts? Do you like to save a special place on your layouts for journaling? Do you like the idea of journaling on die-cut shapes or patterned paper? Have you ever considered bringing a notebook on vacation to do your journaling and then using the pages directly on your layouts?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then one or more of the Making Memories Spiral Journaling Notebooks may be just the product for you.

When I first saw the 4x6 Spiral Journaling Notebook from the Noteworthy collection, I knew that I needed to have it. It contains six great shapes, each with a different color border. I started using them immediately on vacation pages; I loved having a large and attractive space to put my journaling about my vacation, especially the shapes with the lines to keep my journaling straight. I have found that there are many options of how to use the pages. I can use the whole sheet with or without the torn spirals or I can cut it down into a smaller shape.

My only complaint about this journaling book, if you can call it a complaint, is that the sheets are all off-white and they don't always match the white cardstock I frequently use. This problem was easily solved when I discovered several more spiral journaling notebooks in the Paperie collection. These come in four colors: Poolside, Mocha, Greenhouse, and Rouge. Each of these collections also contains matching patterned papers, alphabets, and embellishments. I chose the Poolside collection, which is a beautiful collection that is perfect for pool and beach layouts.

Making Memories makes spiral journaling notebooks in a few other color schemes.

In the future I would consider taking one of these notebooks with me on a vacation and writing the day's journaling in it each evening. Then, I would just use them in my vacation scrapbook when I get home.

If you like journaling or are looking for a place to put that journaling, then I highly recommend getting at least one Making Memories Spiral Journaling Notebook.
