Making Memories Details 2

Recently I had the opportunity to use many of the new Details 2 product line by Making Memories. I had a great time playing with these innovative products. Below you’ll find a breakdown of the products, how their used, and what I thought of them! ![]() Eyelet Alphabets: These alphabet charms, made especially to be held down with eyelets, were wonderful! The classic, elegant font styles can be used for titles, journaling, or embellishments. They are made of very thin metal and I found were wonderful to use both with the eyelet hole or glued down by simply snipping off the eyelet hole with a pair of scissors. Eyelet Charms: Also made of a thin sheet of metal, these charms look great held down with an eyelet, strung with fibers, or decorated with other embellishments. I especially liked the flower designs, but many other shapes and styles are available, from hearts, stars, tags, snowflakes and swirls. Eyelet Words: These pre-printed metal words are a truly innovative product. I loved that they are so easy to set, by just using your eyelet hole punch and setter. The look of etched metal words and magnetic poetry has become increasingly popular in scrapbooking, and these eyelet words make creating that look quick and easy. Eyelet Setter: I was extremely impressed with the eyelet setter by Making Memories. After using a different brand for months, when I tried out the Making Memories brand, I was immediately shocked at how much easier my eyelets started setting when I used their setter. With only one quick tap of my hammer, my eyelets were set, and I was ready to move on to the next part of my page. Definitely a noise-saver in our house! Anywhere Hole Punch: This hole punch is fantastic, because it comes with three different sized tips to make holes for all of your various sizes of eyelets. I found that this eyelet setter works especially well, and cuts the entire circle on the first tap. Other hole punches that I've tried, have left me with a section of the circle that I needed to tear off. Snaps: Snaps are also a great embellishment for pages. They also are attached like eyelets, but have a solid top, in various shapes. You do need to be slightly more careful when setting these. I did have a heart shape pop off of the front of the snap when I set one of them. Luckily, I was able to glue it back on, and did not have to re-do any part of my page. I didn’t have a problem with any of the other snaps that I used. Wire Words: Do you KNOW how long it takes to make your own wire words? These are done very well, and if they have the right words for you, they are a definite time-saver. The added beads also give each word a little bit of flair. My only complaint….no self adhesive. But a needle and thread do the trick, and I’ve been told that a Xyron works well also to adhere these wire words. Wire: The Making Memories wire is very thin wire, in matte finish colors. This wire works best for delicate details, and subtle embellishments. It’s very pliable and easy to bend. Beads: The beautiful colors of the beads were the first thing I noticed when I started using these. I love the frosted finish and the multi colored variety. Tagged: Ahh, another variation of our wonderful silver framed circle-tags. I love the multi-colored, double-dipped tags! It’s like getting two tags in one. I can already see the square and rectangle tags adorning layouts all over the scrapbooking world. Fibers: You can never have enough fibers. Each packages comes with a variety of types and colors, that all coordinate together. I think they are beautiful and fun fibers, and really enjoyed using them. I do wish that the packaging was slightly more conducive to choosing only one fiber at a time, and not making a mess of them if you aren’t using all of the fibers. Buttons: These flat buttons, in various shapes are simply wonderful for scrapbooking. I love how thin they are and the vibrant colors. It’s obvious when using these buttons that they were created with scrapbooking in mind. Definitely a good, non-bulky way to add dimension and texture to your pages. ![]() I was very happy with all of the products that I tested from Making Memories, and was just amazed at the versatility and the look that they added to my pages.
