Glitter Galore!

I have a guilty pleasure--glitter! I know it tends to be messy, and when I use it I frequently find it in my hair and under my nails, but I still love it. This fun and fanciful medium is more versatile than you might imagine. Here are some fun ways to use glitter. Stickles. Stickles is a thick, clear gel that contains glitter. What is so great about Stickles is that it comes in an easy-to-apply squeeze bottle with a fine tip. On the Christmas layout below Stickles were used to add some extra interest by following the curved line in the papers and surrounding a few of the photos and elements. ![]() Layout was created by Jeanne Steinhilber. Chipboard Shapes. Plain chipboard shapes are a wonderful medium to use with any type of glitter. You can paint them, decoupage patterned papers to them, or doodle on them prior to adding your glitter. Ann Clingenpeel added Diamond Dust glitter, which is very fine, to the top of the chipboard number seven to make it really pop off the page in her birthday-themed layout. ![]() Shellie Hubbartt used the same technique to add glitter to the chipboard swirls on her layout entitled "Future Entomologist." ![]() Glitter Stripes. Strips of tacky tape can be used to create dynamic embellishments. On my "Spring in Disneyland" layout I created both the photo mat and the decorative squares by covering strips of tacky tape with various shades of pastel glitter. ![]() Glitter adds shine, texture and dimension to your pages. Give it a try on your layouts because bling is in.
