Altered Die-Cut Words
While a Sarah Heidt Photo Craft die-cut title can be used in its basic cardstock form, take a step outside the box and consider one of these snazzy altering ideas from Julie Geiger to add an artsy twist to a fun product.
Microbead Altered Word
- Run the die-cut word through a Xyron machine to get adhesive on the front.
- Place word in a tray and cover with the micro beads.
- Press down on the beads to ensure adhesion.

Text Altered Word
- In MS word, make a text box larger than the word you are using.
- Fill the text box with random fonts and words.
- Print out your text words on a sheet of paper.
- Using non-permanent adhesive attach the die-cut word over the text.
- Run the paper again through your printer.
- Remove the word and that's it!
Inked Altered Word
- Pick an assortment of different ink colors for your word.
- Use a Dauber (Tsukineko) to "pounce" into the ink pads and then dab on the letters.

UTEE Altered Word
- Ink the Sarah Heidt Photo Craft word with a clear embossing pad.
- Cover with clear UTEE.
- Melt with your embossing heat gun.
- REPEAT the above steps 2-3 times.
- Once desired look is achieved place in the freezer for about 5 minutes.
- Pull out and immediately start bending and placing cracks in your word!

Other Altered Word Ideas
- Use a random word stamp and ink to decorate.
- Chalk each individual letter a different color to coordinate with your page.
- Paint each letter with acrylic paints or watercolors.
- For added depth and texture, cover each letter with light modeling paste, let dry, then paint over the paste.
