All Wound Up: Ideas for Using Making Memories Spiral Journaling Books

Have you seen the Making Memories spiral journaling books? Have you tried them for yourself? If not I recommend picking up one...or three! These little guys are the best! You can use these handy-dandy little pages for much more than just journaling, so don't think they are a one-trick wonder. Try using them as you would a small scrap of patterned paper, or mix and match a few of them for a unique look. Each spiral notebook comes with 30 pages. There are several color options as well, such as chocolate and ivory, or my personal favorite, the Noteworthy set in pinks, teal, green, and red. There are even two sizes. Try the smaller-sized set for use on cards and tags. At only $4.00 each you'll get tons of options at a very reasonable price. They are easy to transport to crops, and the individual sheets are the perfect weight - not too thick, but not so thin that you can see other patterns through them. Here are a few projects I've recently completed using various pages from the Making Memories spiral journaling pages. Sea World This very simple layout features three of my favorite dolphin photos. As I didn't need a bunch of journaling, I wanted to keep the layout clean and simple. The title was getting lost until I placed one of the journaling sheets underneath it to offer some color contrast.

Two of a Kind This 8" x 8" layout features a photo strip from one of those fun photo booths. I gave my daughter the journaling sheet from the Paperie Rouge book and had her write about her friendship with the other girl in the photo. The lines helped keep the journaling tidy, which can be an issue when children are doing their own journaling.

Address Book The front and back covers of this mini address book are sheets from the 5th Avenue Spiral Journal Book. It's the perfect size to go in my glove box and keep frequently used numbers I may need while on the road such as the drycleaner, favorite take-out restaurants, babysitter, movie rental store, etc. I made the inside of this album accordion style so that it's easy to fold up and store in my car.

"Believe in Yourself" Card My last project is a vintage-inspired card using a sheet from the Paperie Mocha spiral book as well as a scallop punched from actual vintage paper in lieu of more traditional patterned papers.
