Product Review: Making Memories Slice

It slices, it dices, it makes julienne fries! OK...maybe it doesn't do that last bit. What's our non-kitchen gadget of the day? The Making Memories Slice!
In our "bigger is better" world, why this li'l guy? It's CUTE! And portable. And CORDLESS! And did I mention it's cute? Measuring less than 5" square, and weighing less than 2 pounds, the Slice packs a serious punch per ounce. Getting ready to cut is simple. Plug the Slice in, and let it charge for an hour. While it's charging, prep your glass mat - simply brush on the adhesive from the included tube. A little goes a long way, and when the white adhesive turns clear, you're ready to cut! What can the Slice cut? Paper, cardstock, vellum, thin vinyl, thin acetate and photos. This list is very similar to the materials that many larger cutters can cut. Most of the designs can be cut from 1" to 4" in size; particularly intricate designs might not cut at the smallest size, to insure successful cutting. The Slice design cards pop in and out easily, and selecting the design is a piece of cake with the clear, easily readable screen. The introductory card, Basic Shapes 1, includes three different styles of alphabets, and a variety of shapes to get you started. Add more designs with additional cards: flowers, flourishes, seaons, holidays, and more! Since the shapes can be cut in a variety of sizes, they lend themselves easily to layering as well. Owning a larger cutter doesn't eliminate the Slice as a great tool to add to your paper-crafting arsenal. With its small size, portable nature, and ability to cut roughly 90 minutes without needing a charge, the Slice is perfect for crops and on-the-go activities! So, while it may not make French fries, the Slice is still an incredibly useful non-kitchen tool! Specifications:
