Magnetic Mini Refrigerator Calendars

by Tiffany Roberts (Jan 2, 2007)

Here is a quick and cute craft idea to give as a gift or keep for yourself. These mini calendars are kept in a 4" x 6" magnetic photo sleeve. You can purchase these photo sleeves at any office supply store. They look like a clear pocket with a magnetic backing.

The miniature calendar pages are easily created in any word-processing program, or can be purchased online at many office-supply , stamping, and crafting websites.

The basic instructions for creating this project are quite easy, and you are only limited by your imagination.

Supplies:

  • magnetic photo sleeve
  • 4" x 6" cardstock base
  • decorative papers
  • long mini brads
  • miniature-sized calendar pages

Optional Supplies: stamps, ribbons, and other embellishments that are fairly flat so that they fit into the sleeve.

Here are a few of the mini calendars that I've created. Some of them use store-bought mini calendars and other use calendars I printed off my computer. I've created examples that are both horizontal and vertical.

Don't forget about decorating the calendar pages themselves. You can enhance the theme of your project by lightly stamping, inking, or chalking the actual calendar pages so that they coordinate and enhance the overall design of your project.

Have fun with these! They are a quick and easy project that you create in any theme or style you want, so the design possibilities are endless.
