Step-by-Step: Silly Christmas

I discovered chipboard not long after it hit the scrapbooking market and I was instantly hooked! It is so versatile and can be used on almost any style of layout, from simple to shabby and anywhere in between. ![]() On my layout "A Very Silly Christmas," I used chipboard letters from Making Memories and Heidi Swapp. The Heidi Swapp letter was a peach color that didn't match my layout, so I sanded it and colored it with a green glitter Gelly Roll pen by Sakura. I used the same pen to color the Making Memories letters. A strip of chipboard across the top of my layout served as a base to attach my fibers. I painted the strip with red acrylic paint. You could use red cardstock, but the chipboard is sturdier and less likely to tear when you tie on the fibers. This layout is easy to re-create using these supplies and following these easy steps. Supply list:
*To prep for this layout, use the Ranger sepia ink to ink all edges of the papers. Paint the chipboard strip red and use your Sakura pen to color the MM chipboard letters. Sand the Heidi Swapp letter and then color it using the same pen.
