Step-by-Step: Soccerfest

Every year in the fall my son plays in what is called Soccerfest. It is a day-long event where all the teams from the entire town compete against other teams in their age group. Score is kept and medals are awarded. It usually raining or so cold that I never get any good photos. This year, the weather was absolutely fantastic and I was able to get some great shots at the award ceremony where my son's team received silver medals. Naturally, I wanted to document this momentous occasion. Let me show you step by step how I created my Soccerfest layout.

Supplies:

• white cardstock - The Paper Company
• red cardstock - Bazzill Basics Paper
• patterned paper - Scenic Route - Cape Town Collection
• letter stickers - American Crafts
• arrow sticker - Heidi Swapp
• journaling block rub-on - Hambly Screenprints
• photo corners - Canson
• marker - American Crafts
• star punch - Fiskars

Instructions:

1. I started with my favorite white cardstock as the background.
2. I had a series of photos that I wanted to get all on one layout. Since two of the photos had some distracting background in them, I was able to trim them to 2 ½" x 5 ¼". That way they fit all across the 8 ½" x 11" piece of cardstock. Trim your photos to fit as desired.
3. Mat the focal point photo with red cardstock, 1/4 inch thick.
4. Adhere the two smaller photos about 1 inch from the top and on either edge of the cardstock.
5. Place the matted photo right in the middle and adhere it.
6. Trim the Scenic Route Cape Town Adderly Floral patterned paper to 3" x 8 ½". Trim the Scenic Route Bellevue Floral patterned paper to 1" x 8 ½". Adhere both directly underneath the photos placing the Adderly Floral first and the Bellevue Floral next.
   
   *note* I used the reverse side of both the Scenic Route patterned papers.
   
   
7. Rub the Hambly journaling circle onto white cardstock and cut it out leaving a small white border.
8. Journal on top.
9. Place the circle directly under the matted photo.
10. Add title lettering.
11. Embellish the photo with the green arrow sticker.
12. Punch out stars from red cardstock and adhere one up by the title and two around the journaling block.
