Step-by-Step: Almost 6

Each year I do a layout about my daughter Charlotte’s favorite things. Instead of me just journaling about what she likes, I chose to interview her so that I would hear what she likes best right from the source. I combined this interview with these adorable photos that I took of Charlotte one fall day and the BasicGrey Romani Collection Pack to make this memorable page. Here is how I created this layout step by step.

Supplies:

• BasicGrey Romani Collection Pack
• For the background I used the Amber (pink) patterned paper.
• To make the journal box I cut the Harem patterned paper into a 10 ½” by 4” piece.
• BasicGrey Romani alphabet stickers and tag die cut
• Die Cuts With a View Cardstock
• I cut the peach cardstock into a 10 ½” by 4” piece.
• EK Success Large Corner Rounder
• EK Success Photo Corner Punch
• Heidi Swapp Pink Bling Jewels
• Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Ink
• Queen and Co. Orange Felt Ribbon border
• Cut out one flower.
• Cut out a 5 ½” strip, one flower wide (approximately 5 flowers).
• Tangerine Doodlebug Paper Frills
• Cut scalloped frill into a 11 ½” piece.
• Adirondack Pink Sherbet Paint Dabbers
• Making Memories Crystal Brads
• BasicGrey Undressed Chipboard Numbers
• Annual and Acoustic Light Fonts
• Doodlebug Bumblebee Jewels

Instructions:

1. Using the pink paint dabber, paint the BasicGrey chipboard number. Set aside to dry.
2. Take the Amber patterned paper and ink the edges with the Vintage Photo Ink.
3. Round the corners on the journal box. Ink edges. Adhere the journal box ¾” from the top and ½” from the left of the background paper.
4. Ink peach cardstock. Adhere cardstock so that it abuts the journal box on the right side.
5. Adhere the paper frill onto the seam of the journal box and the peach cardstock. It should be ¼” from the top of the paper.
   
   

1. Adhere a 5” by 7” photo 1/8” from the paper frill and so that the top edge is even with the top of edge of the background.
2. Adhere the 4” by 6” photo to the bottom right of the layout. The photo will be ½” from the right side and ¼” from the bottom.
3. Punch out a photo corner from the pink patterned paper. Ink the edges and adhere to the bottom right corner of the 4” by 6” photo.
4. Ink and adhere tag. The right edge should slightly overlap paper frill on the right and the bottom left edge of the 4” by 6” photo.
5. Adhere the Heidi Swapp Pink Bling Jewels around the 4” by 6” photo.
6. Adhere the title.
7. Adhere the felt flower and button. The flower should overlap the bottom right of the tag and the bottom left of the 4” by 6” photo.
8. Adhere the felt flower strip to the right edge of the 5” by 7” photo. Adhere brads and jewels to the middle of the flowers.
