Step-by-Step: �Momma & J�

I like creating layouts with lots of fun embellishments that give dimension and spunk. For example, I knew I wanted to create a girly layout of this photo of my friend snuggling with her baby daughter. I was able to use a combination of embellishments to create this look. Below, you will find simple instructions on how to create a layout such as this of your very own.

Instructions:

1. First choose your color scheme. I chose a pink and green palette for "girly" colors, and sharp highlights of black and white to add contrast to the layout.
2. Use cardstocks to create the background. I layered a trimmed piece of green cardstock on top of black cardstock. I then matted my photo on white cardstock. I inked the edges of all the cardstock as well.
3. Then lay your matted photo on the background. I tilted my photo to give the layout some funk.
4. Next, take your journaling spot and tuck it just behind the lower left side of the photo. Don't add journaling just yet; that will come later.
5. Now, we're going to embellish this layout! I then used a scalloped edge scissors to create a small patterned paper embellishment using paper from the Chatterbox kit. The hint of pattern adds spunk. I tucked this between the journaling spot and photo.
6. Add a photo corner to the top left of the photo for a pop of pink. In the bottom right corner of the photo, I added a flower embellishment created from two American Crafts Chipboard Canister Flowers, a brad, and some ink. In the top left corner of the photo, I added a Days of the Week Journaling Spot. I altered this by giving the top a scalloped edge and by tucking it behind the photo, so only the day of the week is exposed.
7. I added my title using chipboard letters, and wrote down some journaling.
8. That's it! A simple layout with fun and girly embellishments to complement an all-girl photograph.
