Step-by-Step: Six-Pack of Cards + Bonus
I read somewhere that "when you care enough to give the very best, you make it yourself." With that in mind, I keep an assortment of handmade cards available to send to my friends and family. Here is a collection of cards that you can make for the special people in your life. Be careful, though, because if your family is like mine, they'll be offended if they don't get handmade cards! Supplies: - flowers
- brads and buttons
- ribbons
- coordinating patterned papers
- cardstock
- flower stamps
- ink pads
- circle and square punches
- acrylic paint
- black and white pens
Pink Happy Card - Trim white cardstock to 5½" x 8" and fold in half.
- Paint a pink button with pink acrylic paint and immediately coat with pink shimmer. Set aside to dry.
- Lightly ink white flower with pink ink and set aside.
- Trim a 4" x 5½" piece of pink "happy" patterned paper and adhere to the front of the card.
- Trim a ¾" x 5½" strip of collage patterned paper and adhere ¾" from the bottom of the card.
- Adhere the inked white flower to the bottom left side of the card and place the painted button in the center.
Brown Hello Card - Trim white cardstock to 4" x 8" and fold in half.
- Trim a 4" x 4" piece of brown cardstock and adhere to the card.
- Cut a 3" and a 2" piece of green ribbon and adhere as in the photo.
- Adhere a green flower above each piece of ribbon.
- Adhere a white button in the center of each flower.
- Use a 1 1/8" circle punch to punch out a circle.
- Stamp a sentiment onto the punched circle and adhere in the lower right corner.
Pink Flower Card - Trim a 5" x 10" piece of white cardstock and fold in half.
- Ink the edges of the card with a pink ink pad.
- Trim a 1¼" x 4½" piece of brown cardstock.
- Trim a 1½" x 5" piece of Elsie stripe patterned paper.
- Trim a 1" x 5" piece of Elsie pink flower paper.
- Stamp a sentiment onto brown cardstock with white ink and heat emboss.
- Adhere the sentiment ½" from the bottom of the card.
- Layer the pink stripe patterned paper over the sentiment.
- Adhere a pink flower paper onto the pink striped paper, leaving equal margins at top and bottom.
- Place a brad in a pink bling blossom and then adhere to the top left of the card.
Green Thinking of You Card - Trim white cardstock to 5½" x 8" and fold in half.
- Trim a 4" x 5½" piece of green cardstock and adhere to he front of the card.
- Use a 1" punch to punch five squares from coordinating collage paper.
- Adhere squares along the bottom of the green paper.
- Draw a line around the margins of the card with a black pen.
- Stamp a sentiment onto the card as shown.
Teal Card - Trim white cardstock to 6" x 10" and fold in half.
- Paint a chipboard flower with yellow acrylic paint and set aside.
- Trim a 5" x 6" piece of teal patterned paper and then tear off 1" from the bottom of the teal paper.
- Trim a 2" x 5" piece of yellow striped paper and adhere to the bottom of the 5" x 6" card.
- Adhere the teal paper over the striped paper. Curl the edges of the teal paper if desired.
- Cut hemp twine in half and tie around the center of the card, making a knot.
- Attach a small tag onto a safety pin and stick the pin and tag through the knot on the twine.
- Stamp a small flower in the center of the chipboard flower and allow ink to dry.
- Paint a thin layer of Pearl Glaze on the chipboard flower and allow to dry.
- Adhere the chipboard flower in the center of the teal paper when dry.
Pink Love Card - Trim white cardstock to 5½" x 8" and fold in half.
- Trim a 4" x 5½" piece of pink cardstock and ink the edges with brown ink.
- Use Autumn Leaves stamps to stamp flowers onto the pink paper with a pink ink pad. Allow to dry and then adhere to the front of the card.
- Trim a 5" piece of pink gingham ribbon and tie a smaller piece around the ribbon as shown.
- Adhere the ribbon 1" from the bottom of the card.
- Cut "Love" out of collage paper (or stamp on yellow cardstock) and ink the edges with brown ink.
- Adhere "Love" to the piece of brown cardstock , and attach to the lower right corner of the card as shown.
Heart Flower (Bonus) - Trim a 5" x 10" piece of white cardstock and fold in half.
- Trim a 5" x 5" piece of collage paper and adhere to the front of t the card.
- Punch two holes in the top of the card, ½" from the top and 1¾" from the left and right sides of the card.
- Tie a brown ribbon through the holes.
- Use a heart punch to punch out a heart shape from kraft cardstock.
- Use a white pen[K10] to draw a line around the heart.
- Fold a large pink flower in half and staple the heart onto the flower.
- Adhere the flower to the card as desired.
