Step-by-Step: Building Castles
I'm a simple scrapbooker. I like to create quick clean layouts that also make big impact. With this layout, I used color and angles to achieve a simple but fun look. Let me show you how easy it is to recreate this layout. Supplies: Instructions: I used an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of yellow cardstock as my background and turned it horizontally to create a landscape layout. To get the orange at an angle that would cover the yellow cardstock, I had to turn it vertically. Once I decided there was enough orange for me, about 4" on the bottom and 7" on the top, I adhered it to the yellow. I flipped the paper over and trimmed the orange all around the yellow so that I was left with an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock. I trimmed a ½" strip of striped Doodlebug patterned paper and adhered it where the yellow and orange pieces of cardstock meet. I lined up the photo flush against the striped paper, adhered my letter stickers right on top for a playful look and finished it off with two big green foam photo corners. A Heidi Swapp journaling spot provided just enough space for me to journal with my favorite American Crafts pen. I layered two Heidi Swapp small florals in orange and kiwi and adhered them right above the journaling spot to bring your eye to what I had to say. Lastly, I haphazardly scattered a few Doodlebug buttons and adhered them with glue dots.
