Step-by-Step: Swimming Fun
It's sizzling hot outside and that can only mean one thing - it's time to hit the pools! I had some fun swimming photos from my childhood waiting to be scrapped that I "dived" into. Below you will find the instructions to create a splashing layout of your own. And of course, this design can be used for any other photos as well. Happy scrapping, and enjoy the warm weather! Supplies: Instructions: - First find three photos you would like to include on your layout. I cropped all my photos to the same height for easy matting, The widths can vary, but just make sure they will fit on your page as you desire.
- Next, pull some colors from your photos to use for the main accents on your page. Contrasting colors will help give your layout a "pop." Use a bold color for the background, and then layer another sheet of trimmed cardstock on top. This will create a border effect. You can also ink the edges of the papers to give more definition.
- Next, it's time to mat your photos. Start with a larger piece of cardstock, and lay down your cropped photos and adhere them. Then, trim the cardstock to create a border. Now, add the matted photos onto your layout, and stick a photo corner in the upper left hand of the mat.
- Now create what I call a "shelf" for your photo mat. I used rob and bob studio patterned paper and used just a strip of it for my "shelf." Cut it just a little longer than the photo mat to give the layout a little spunk.
- It's time to embellish. I used a folded Heidi Swapp flower and a large Bazzill brad to add a fun, bold element to the layout. Use a glue dot to tuck it down just underneath the photo mat.
- Just add some rub-ons and your layout will be complete! I used American Crafts flower rub-ons on the upper left corner of the photos, and paid careful attention to the amount of room left to spell out my title, for which I used Heidi Swapp rub-on letters.
- That's it! Glad you dived in!
