Step-by-Step: Frozen Drinks
Since you are a scrapbooker, I am willing to bet you know what it's like to feel as though you're never going to finish scrapping all of the photos you've taken on vacation! I took a trip to Mexico a whole year ago, and I'm still working on my stack of photographs. I needed something fast and easy, yet still fun and cute to complete this task. Below, you will find the simple steps I took to create this layout which took me only twenty minutes to complete. Supply List: Instructions: - I first started by finding papers to match my photo. These bright papers easily allowed me to capture the fun and happy mood of my Mexico layout.
- Next, I chose black cardstock for the background to tie the bright patterned papers in with the dark areas in the photo. I trimmed my patterned paper to fit onto the piece of cardstock, allowing the cardstock to act as a border.
- I used deco scissors to trim one edge of my patterned paper. I chose to ink the edges of the patterned paper and then adhered the patterned paper to the cardstock.
- My next step was to use patterned paper to create a "shelf" for my photo. I first laid down my photo, and cut the paper to fit my taste. Again, I used the deco scissors on the edge of this strip, or "shelf." I inked the edges, and adhered it to the layout.
- Next I created a mat for the photograph. I used a solid sheet of green paper, and trimmed around the edges for a thin border. I inked it and attached my photograph.
- Then it was time to add one of my favorite embellishments: rub-ons! I chose the flowers to act as a filler in the corner, and the strip above my photo to balance out my layout. On the side of my photo, I used a date stamp for balance.
- I created the title using two different chipboard alphabets to add movement and some fun to the layout. I love to mix it up between upper- and lowercase as well!
- Finally, I used up my scraps from the striped paper and created three little strips of paper for the top of my layout.
