Five Layouts Using Scraps

Scraps. We all have plenty of them. What do you do with your scraps? Do you make cards? Do you use them on layouts? Come and see what these designers have done with their scraps.

Alicia Merrifield

Alicia had lots of wonderful patterned paper scraps along with miscellaneous left-over embellishments. Here is an amazing layout that she created with her scrap paper and embellishments. I am sure she even had scraps left over from this layout. I wonder if she will make a card or two.

Patter Cross

In this layout, I really wanted to use a new sheet of pink Bazzill but I did not have any left in this particular shade. So, I used the scrap pink Bazzill I had left and used it on a piece of white Bazzill. It worked perfectly for what I was trying to achieve. I also used the patterned paper scraps to make 1 ½" circles for the right side of the layout. Using your scraps for punched shapes really works well.

For my next layout, I decided to use a sketch from Tiare Smith of Classy Coordinates. Looking at a sketch to see how you might use up your scraps is a great way to plan a layout. Tiare's sketch was perfect for the scraps I used in this layout.

Lisa Carroll

Lisa was not quite sure how to scrap this adorable black-and-white photo of her son at the beach. She cleverly used the scraps as photo mats. She also created a unique embellishment with them, and used them to mat her journaling strips. This layout turned out perfectly.

Brandy Lackey

Brandy had some great scraps available to use for this layout of her daughter. I love how she used the strips of patterned paper in this layout then left a corner for her journaling.
