Hidden Treasures

by Andrea Steed (Mar 31, 2004)

I love the look of strung beads on a layout, whether it's as a border, a frame, or simply to hang another embellishment. The problem is that it takes forever to string all of those little beads, and I never seem to have the exact combination that I need. Because of this, I rarely use this neat technique, even though I love the way it looks.

However, the other day I was waiting to have my watch battery replaced at Wal-Mart and was thumbing through the various necklaces and bracelets that are on display by the jewelry counter…and realized that these were already strung beads! I figure the $4 or $5 for the bracelet is probably worth the time and money I would have spent on finding the perfect beads and stringing them all myself.

So keep an eye out for these little treasures you might find in the most unsuspecting places. They just might make the perfect embellishments for your next scrapbook page!
