Scraplifting Yourself: Vol. 2

Are you stuck on a layout? Maybe you are creating a gift album? Have you ever thought about scraplifting yourself? Copying a layout you have already done can be very helpful when making a gift album or when you are stuck. When scraplifting yourself, there are also no copyright infringements so you do not have that issue to be concerned about either. So, if you are stuck, need to do something fast, or just love a layout and want to use it again, why not scraplift yourself? Where Should You Start? Before deciding which layout you want to copy, it is helpful if you know how many pictures you want to use on the new layout. So, first, pick the pictures you will use. After you have picked your pictures, then pick your papers and embellishments. Choose Your Layout Once you have your pictures, papers, and embellishments, now it is time to look through your albums. What layout have you done that you love? What layout have you done that will work with these pictures? Once you pick the layout you want to scraplift, the rest should go quite quickly and easily. Start putting your layout together, while changing embellishments, journaling, placement, etc., as needed. Use your original layout as a springboard for the second copy. Sample Scraplifts In these two layouts, I scraplifted the design but the topics, papers, page sizes, journaling, and embellishments are completely different. The first layout, "Me," is a 12" x 12" page whereas the "Identical Triplets" layout is a 9" x 9". I had to adjust the size of my squares but other than that, it was an easy "lift." ![]() Both of the following layouts are 9" x 9" pages; however, the subjects, papers, and embellishments are different. Sometimes I even find that I like the newly created page better than the original. ![]() Ginnifer Maloney (Sunnydayscrapper) In Ginnifer's scraplift, she not only used different papers and embellishments but she also had a longer title on the second layout. The title needed to stretch down the left side whereas in the first layout the title was much shorter. She also added flowers around her journaling and used a different font which creates a very different look also. ![]() So, I challenge you: scraplift one of your layouts and post both layouts in the gallery. We would love to see what you do, and most of all have fun!
