Scraplifting Yourself

Do you have a favorite scrapbook page, one that you know is "just right"? Take advantage of the great work you've already done, and make your next layout a new version of an old favorite--scraplift yourself! They don't have to be exactly the same, they don't have to be different, but if it's a layout you already like, chances are you'll like the scraplifted one too! I first sat down and went through my gallery to pick out some favorite layouts to recreate. Then I went through my photos to see what I had that would work with the layout. I then chose my supplies and embellishments, turned on my Itunes and came up with these creations: ![]() For the new layout I omitted the vellum overlay with journaling and added tags with rub-on accents instead. The colors were changed, flowers were left off and a new layout emerged just as fun as the first! These next two layouts I made almost back to back. I liked the design layout of the first one so much that I remade it almost exactly the same except for the supplies. ![]() This next layout was a big favorite given the colors and sweet picture of my daughter Haley. I knew this would be a good one to scraplift after seeing this picture from last Easter. I kept the layout itself the same but changed the title pieces around, simplified it just a bit, and left off the bottom ribbon. I think had I left off the top ribbon you'd never really know I scraplifted this. The new papers give a completely different feel from the original. ![]() This next one I realized I had scraplifted myself only after looking through my work. Often when scrapbooking, I will browse through my layouts looking at just the layout design, the photo placement, the title and even sometimes the color scheme. For this one I scraplifted the photo placement and then the overall balance of embellishments. ![]() For this last layout I decided to use a multi-photo layout. The original layout was made last month and immediately I knew it was a favorite given all three kids faces' were showcased. I liked the clean lines and overall balance. When I ran across some fun pictures I had taken of my son Connor, I decided to recreate the original layout. I once again kept the layout the same. However the minute I used different papers and embellishments once again it felt completely different. ![]() After looking at these two layouts I made, I ran across an older layout in my files. ![]() Even though it's not exactly like these, there are a lot of similarities. It has three photos, horizontal accents and papers. The title placement has changed, but the feel of the original layout is still there. This just shows how far the possibilities of scraplifting yourself goes. You can duplicate exactly or take just a portion, an accent, a circle, photo placement, a ribbon...the possibilities are endless! So I challenge you to look through your layout galleries. Find ones that make you smile, that you beamed with pride after creating and make it again. Scraplift yourself!
